There are three different types of installation methods: sliding the mesh under the first row of roof shingles, snapping the gutter guards onto the lip of the gutter, or fascinging a flange straight to the fascia.
Reverse Curve
Reverse-curve gutter guards are designed from a light metal or plastic material that is molded into a downward curve. The water flows over the top of the downward curve and into the gutter beneath. This allows the leaves and debris to fall right off the side of the gutters and work well for keeping them out of the gutter.
Brush
Brush gutter guards are basically oversized pipe cleaners that will sit inside the gutter, and will stop the larger leaves and branches from clogging your gutters. Brush guards are the easiest to install. Simply measure out the lengths of your gutters, cut the brush guard to that length and slide it in.
Foam
Foam guards are another easy-to-install option. They are essentially a triangular block of foam that sits inside the gutter. There is a flat side of the foam that faces up towards the top of the gutter and prevents debris from entering, while there is also a flat side facing downward which allows water to flow through underneath.
